@Persona @monsieuricon, the picture on the left is at least partially ai-generated.
@noamross wait, that's a thing?
@michaelcoyote On android (or at least pixel) there's "Color correction" under the accessibility settings. You can set to greyscale (or other/manual color changes), and add a shortcut to switch it on and off.
Meat proxy as a service.
@bagder Scam for Curl is my new band name.
I’m so proud of the new v4 Pixelfed mobile app, I wrote 4 custom expo modules (Kotlin for Android and Swift for iOS) to handle a few unique features like on device language translations and the ability to select from multiple app icons.
The media optimizer module was the hardest, and you won’t even tell, but it handles resizing media to the formats and size limits of your server without you even knowing.
It’s details like this that separate your project to become the second biggest by MAU 🚀
@dansup YES! That's great news about the media resizing, a huge usability win! Thank you for you work
Finally landed in Prague for #OSSummit after the pilot pulled out of the landing at the last minute, not once, but twice. The first was cross winds, and the second was because another aircraft was on our runway 🤪🤣
@geekygirldawn I was lucky, must have landed just before you from Bristol, with no issues other than an hour delayed taking off

My friend @grimalkina introduced me to the "hamburger test" as an outcome baseline for education policy interventions. In short, whatever elaborate scheme you're planning, if the outcome isn't going to be more cost effective dollar for dollar than feeding that kid a hamburger, then feed that kid a hamburger instead.
It turns out that sets a _very_ high bar, because the societal return on an investment of "make sure children don't go hungry" actually incredible.
> ‘I Felt Super Violated’: Men Wearing Meta Glasses on Dates Is an Instant Red Flag
Urgh. Holy Massive Consent Violation, Batman!
(A few weeks old, but new to me.)
@neil I took some fabric plasters with me to @DrupalConEUR last week especially to apply them to any of these glasses pointed in my direction.
@Gurre Mate, I ain't in your grill or nothing - but if you gonna do this with him, the part where you give him the time a day, can I not be tagged in that?
Because I just told him to eat a bullet. So Y'all know where I am on talking with this fuckstick.
@sebsauvage Pour info, le tip du "ctrl+L + !" m'a valu un 0 au test numérique de Francetravail, c'est pas la méthode Google 🤣

It can takes months of analysis to fully understand an astronomical image. But it's pretty amazing what you can tell about it in literally seconds.

Nice post, those of us who like astronomy but never studied or practiced it appreciate this type of analysis!
So...only Jewish people who follow Zionism are allowed in Israel?
I'm sure the optics for this cannot be good for the Israeli Government?
@johnnyvibrant My man, they’re live streaming a genocide… something tells me they don’t give too much of a shit about optics.

Today we relaunched the #BASEsearch web front-end. It's not just a website redesign. We also ported our software to the lastest version of #vufind. Please have a look: https://www.base-search.net/
While we were at it, we streamlined our service portfolio. In particular, #ORCID claiming is gone. Read why: https://blog.ub.uni-bielefeld.de/?p=14986#englisch
@JohnGassman @pitermach I talked about it in a post; I was suspicious of it even before summer, but I am so optimistic, so I didn't want to think bad just as a principle.
@elettrona
they ran into a problem that many companies who serve the blind face, they are a small company and when they try and do something that takes a lot of money, they have difficulty surviving. Agiga had better have a lot of money behind them and I know they care about working with the blind. Meta is a huge company but, I don't believe their interest is in helping the blind its nice if they can but, they are out there serving a huge public who don't need the same things in product as would blind people. I'm not interested in Meta at all, look what they have done accessibility wise to Facebook. I might checkout Agiga sometime in the future.
@calendsofapril thank you. 💚 It was just a follow-up, and his anemia is greatly improved, so all good news!! Poor little guy just hates car rides.
@idzie oh that's good! i'm so glad he's doing better!
